Deoghar Airport is all set to make air travel more accessible with its direct flight service to Bengaluru, starting June 1.
This new route aims to boost connectivity from the holy city to South India and beyond.
According to English Jagran, the inaugural flight is scheduled to touch down at 12:40 pm, coinciding with the voting day, offering a convenient opportunity for residents working in South India to return home and cast their votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election.
Operated by Indigo, the flight will charge Rs 6,500 for the Deoghar to Bengaluru journey, marking the airport’s second connection with a major city after Delhi. The Airbus, equipped with 186 seats, will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Currently, the airport facilitates daily direct flights to Delhi and Kolkata, with plans to introduce services to Mumbai soon. Additional airlines are expected to kick off operations post-July, further enhancing air connectivity in the region. This expansion is anticipated to boost the local economy and offer convenience to pilgrims visiting the 12th Jyotirlinga and Parasnath.
This move will especially benefit travelers, including those employed in Bengaluru, who often face challenges in visiting their families due to limited vacation time. Additionally, it will offer a sigh of relief to residents of Santhal Pargana, Anga Pradesh, and nearby areas, who previously relied solely on rail transport.
Nishikant Dubey, MP for Godda, highlighted that the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have granted all necessary technical clearances to Deoghar Airport.
He emphasized that persistent efforts were instrumental in establishing the Deoghar-Bengaluru flight services, marking a significant step forward in enhancing regional connectivity.
