Luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz has shared the first photos of their much awaited vehicle, Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. The snaps show the entirely camouflaged four-wheeler undergoing its winter testing phase on the snow in Sweden. The German automobile company in its tweet mentioned that there is a particular site in Sweden where the testing of cars takes place. The all new Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is going to be the eighth generation SL. The first generation SL vehicle was introduced in the market in 1952. In the tweet, the top German carmaker also revealed that the 300 SL road testing happened on the A81.
The upcoming vehicle will soon be heading to to its final stage of development as a Mercedes-AMG model. Most likely, the car will come equipped with a 3.0-litre inline-six cylinder engine that can generate 430 horsepower. Further, if the grapevine is to be believed, then there are chances that the car may also be home to four-litre turbo for the sports car.
One of the most anticipated parts of the luxury wheeler includes its redesigned fabric roof. The much-awaited car will need to prove its mettle in the extreme conditions near the Arctic Circle. A decent proportion of the development work of Mercedes-Benz 300 SL has been done in digital form.
As a result, makers are now stressing more on the physical testing of the car. This is being done to make sure that the car goes beyond expectations of its potential buyers and other automobile enthusiasts. The German automobile manufacturer is currently working on the final tuning of its fully variable all-wheel drive system 4MATIC+. This drive system is being introduced in a first with this car.
Once the winter testing is over, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL will undergo a final test at Nьrburgring Nordschleife (a motorsports complex in Germany), before hitting the market.
