The boy's efforts resulted in the creation of 15 different types of Vinayankan Murthy, which not only showcased his artistic skills but also became a source of significant income on his very first attempt.

In a heartwarming story of determination and creativity, a young boy from Tumkur, Karnataka has exemplified the age-old adage, ‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way.’ CS Tejas, a resident of Devanga Street in Chikkanayakanahalli town, has demonstrated that waiting for opportunities to knock on your door is not the only way; sometimes, you need to create those opportunities for yourself. Despite facing financial constraints, Tejas completed his diploma in Mechanical and amid the ongoing festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, he managed to earn an impressive sum of Rs 30,000.

Tejas currently works as an employee at a private company in Tumkur. However, it is his passion and creativity that have truly set him apart. Over the last three months, during his spare time at home, he dedicated himself to crafting exquisite idols of Lord Ganesha. His efforts resulted in the creation of 15 different types of Vinayankan Murthy, which not only showcased his artistic skills but also became a source of significant income on his very first attempt.

Tejas’s talent is not just a stroke of luck; it runs in the family. His father, Gare Prakash, is an accomplished sculptor who specialises in crafting statues for temple walls and adorning them with intricate paintings. Tejas drew inspiration from his father’s craft and last year, created a Ganesha idol from clay during the festival, earning praise for his exceptional craftsmanship.

This year, Tejas decided to display his 15 meticulously crafted idols in front of his shop in Chikkanayakanahalli town and each idol’s unique design attracted eager buyers, resulting in a sold-out collection.

Beyond local acclaim, Tejas’s artistry has caught the attention of public Ganesha Mandals and organisations throughout the city. Impressed by his remarkable skills, they have already placed orders for Lord Ganesha’s idols for the upcoming year, showcasing the growing demand for his distinctive creations.

The 10-day-long Ganesh Chaturthi festival, celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha, commenced on September 18 and will culminate on Ananta Chaturdashi, September 28. In a related update, it was reported that on the fifth day of the festival, a total of 8,198 idols were immersed in beaches and artificial ponds in Mumbai, as confirmed by an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, emphasising the grandeur of this auspicious festival.
