Kannada actor Roopesh Shetty is currently enjoying one of the best phases of his life. His Tulu film Circus was released in the theatres on June 23 this year. It emerged as a commercially successful film at the box office. According to reports, the shooting of Circus was completed before the COVID-19 pandemic and marks the second directorial of Roopesh Shetty. After an astounding success at the box office, Circus is now all set for a TV premiere. It will premiere on the Star Suvarna channel tomorrow, September 10 at 6 PM. Roopesh has now become a bonafide star of the coastal region, with a slew of successful projects to his credit. Circus was released in the coastal Tulu-speaking belt of Karnataka, namely Mangaluru, Surathkal, Padubidri, Udupi, Manipal, and Karkala. This film has also been released in Moodabidri, Belthangadi, Puttur, Sullia, Kundapura, Koppa, Mulleria, and Kasaragod.
Circus revolves around Rahul, a young educated man, who wants to set up his own business. He wants to put the land of his family, situated in the village, on mortgage for this purpose. His father, however, doesn’t approve of this. Whether he will be able to find a way or not forms the core theme of this film. RS Cinemas & Shoolin Films have produced Circus. Actors Aravind Bolar, Rachana Rai, Yash Shetty, Umesh Mijar, and other actors acted in this film.
Roopesh has expressed happiness about the success of this film in a video shared on Instagram earlier. He said, “I did not expect that Circus would be as big a hit as it is now. The film has taken the biggest opening ever for a Tulu movie, with thousands watching it on day 1. Thank you so much for supporting the film and showing it so much love,” he said.
Roopesh is now looking forward to his next film titled Adhipatra, directed by Chayan Shetty. Roopesh talked about this film to the media during its muhurat. He said that when the script of Adhipatra was narrated to him, he realised how well-prepared Chayan Shetty was with the script. Roopesh Shetty said that he would change his look for the film.
