‘We Should Respect Our Players’: Sonu Sood Posts Amid Hardik Pandya's Trolling

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is currently underway. Fans are enthusiastically rooting for their favourite teams and players. Some of the fan wars, however, are also taking an ugly turn and they are mocking the other players in the most vulgar means possible. Actor Sonu Sood has shared his views on this matter. Without referring to anyone’s name, he tweeted,” We should respect our players. Players who made us proud, players who made our country proud. One day you cheer for them, next day you boo them. It’s not they, it’s us who fail. I love cricket. I love every cricketer who represents my country.” hE wrote that it is insignificant whether the cricketer plays as a Captain or as the 15th man in a team. According to him, it is also insignificant for which franchises are playing. He said that these cricketers are their heroes.

Sonu Sood has not named anyone in this Twitter post, but his fans are assuming that this post is in support of cricketer Hardik Pandya. He was appointed as the captain of Mumbai Indians (MI), in place of Rohit Sharma for the 17th edition and has been facing backlash since then from the MI fans. They are trolling Hardik, especially after the team’s loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 27. Model and Hardik’s wife Natasa Stankovic has also faced vicious trolling on her social media posts by the people.

Sonu Sood is known for featuring in films like Sreemantha, Jodhaa Akbar and Dabangg. After a successful stint at acting, he is now all set to make his debut in direction as well with the film Fateh. He will also play the lead role in this film complimented by the supporting star cast of Vijay Raaz, Jacqueline Fernandez, and others. This film was filmed in various locations including India, USA, Russia, and Poland. It has been backed by Shakti Sagar Productions and Zee Studios. Fateh is currently in the post-production phase and is expected to release at the cinemas this year.

According to ANI, Sonu Sood claimed that he’s excited for the film and called it a “crucial subject.” He feels that it is important to raise awareness about the concept and he’s confident with the subject.
