New Delhi: Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das said on Wednesday that NABARD has sanctioned a special limit of Rs 21,000 crore to District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCB) to help agricultural credits.

While addressing the media, he said, "We have asked RBI, banks, NABARD to make cash available to cooperative banks to ensure smooth flow of credit to farmers during this sowing season and certain amount in cash. The government has made decisions to help farmers and for popularising digital transactions in the country."
"PSU (Public Sector Undertakings) and some private sector banks have agreed to waive off service charges on use of debit card till Dec 31. The Indian railways have also decided to waive off service charges on e-tickets booked till the end of 2016," he added.
"Also, all digital transactions through feature phones will not be levied with service charges till Dec 31," he said, while adding that all government organisations, PSUs and agencies have been advised to use digital payment for paying salaries and other expenses.
