IND vs SA, 1st Test Day 2: After KL Rahul's Majestic Ton to Take India to 245, Mohammed Siraj Draws First Blood
KL Rahul once again turned out to be a crisis man for India and scripted history by scoring a fine century on Day 2.

Mohammed Siraj drew the first blood for India but South Africa managed to recover from it and were placed at 49/1 at Lunch of Day 2 in the second Test at SuperSport Park, Centurion.

Siraj managed to set up Aiden Markram with three outswingers and then a straight delivery which produced an edge from his willow. Rahul didn’t make any mistake while grabbing that to put South Africa on the backfoot early.

At Lunch, South Africa were trailing by 196 runs with Dean Elgar (29*) and Tondy de Zorzi (12*) in the middle. Ravichandran Ashwin bowled the final over before the lunch break which turned out to be maiden.

Jasprit Bumrah, who was playing his first Test after a long time, managed to trouble Elgar with his disciplined line and length. The southpaw copped a few body blows but held his ground strong.

Debutant Prasidh Krishna started his Test career by getting hit for a boundary on the first ball. Meanwhile, it was a dramatic over as India also lost a review in the attempt to get rid of Elgar.

KL Rahul once again turned out to be a crisis man for India and scripted history by scoring a fine century on Day 2. Resuming his inning at 70, Rahul decided to take on the bowlers considering he was tagging alongside the tailenders. The flamboyant wicketkeeper smashed Kagiso Rabada and Gerald Coetzee for sixes to reach the triple-figure mark.

There were no overt celebrations and he must have felt more relief than joy after an effort which will certainly rank among his best in recent times.

It was his second Test century on the Proteas soil and interestingly both of them came at the same venue. On the last tour also Rahul smashed a century at Centurion.

Meanwhile, he got out after scoring his century and was castled by Nandre Burger on 101 which was laced with 14 fours and 4 sixes.

Siraj gave him good support by facing 22 balls, however, he managed to score just 5.

India were bundled out for 245 as Kagiso Rabada (5/59) and Nandre Burger (3/50) shared eight wickets to dismantle the Indian batting line-up.
