India will take on the hosts South Africa in the ICC U-19 World Cup semi-finals. India has been phenomenal at the tournament so far, maintaining a perfect record in the five matches they have played. The defending champions have beaten powerful teams like Bangladesh and New Zealand in the groups to secure their place in the semi-finals of the current edition. In their previous game, India took down Nepal in their second Super Six game.
The match began with India winning the toss and then deciding to bat first. Uday Sahran and Sachin Das both scored centuries in the game to put up 297 runs on the board for India. During their bowling half, Saumy Kumar Pandey continued his sensational run at the tournament as he scalped four wickets. His haul proved to be crucial as India won the game by 132 runs.
India and South Africa’s U-19 World Cup semi-final match will be hosted at the Sahara Park Willowmoore Cricket Stadium on February 5. South Africa also began their tournament on a winning note by beating the West Indies. They lost their next game to England by 36 runs before putting up a three-match win streak against the likes of Scotland, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. They will now be looking to continue that run against India next.
