India will resume their U-19 World Cup campaign against the United States in their final group game. India are currently sitting in firm control of Group A, having bagged back-to-back victories against Bangladesh and Ireland. Bangladesh currently hold the second place while the Irish side follows them closely in the third position. In their previous game, India stomped Ireland by 201 runs to remain undefeated in the ongoing World Cup. The match started with Musheer Khan smashing a scintillating century while skipper Uday Saharan put up another 75 runs to help India cross the 300-run barrier. In the second innings, Naman Tiwari stepped on the bowling front for India scalping four wickets while giving away 53 runs in 10 overs. His performance was enough to curb the Irish team at 100 runs.
India’s third group game at the U-19 World Cup match will be hosted at the Mangaung Oval on January 28. Compared to their upcoming opponents, the United States are having a lacklustre tournament with no wins in the two games they have played. They lost their opener against Ireland before conceding another defeat to Bangladesh. The Americans lost to the Asian Champions by 121 runs and will not be playing in the knockout phase of the ongoing tournament.
