Having overcome Bangladesh in their opening match, India Under-19 will now look to continue the winning momentum when they take on Ireland in the next game of the ICC Men’s U-19 World Cup. The Group A match between India and Ireland is scheduled to be played at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on Thursday, January 25. The Indian unit demonstrated its quality across the two departments in their campaign opener. They batted first and posted 251 runs. Bangladesh U-19 made a promising start to their run chase. However, they suffered a batting collapse once Saumy Pandey was brought into the attack. The young spinner claimed four wickets, helping India secure a comprehensive 84-run win.
Meanwhile, Ireland U-19 started off their campaign with a resounding six-wicket victory over the USA. The Irish side, however, failed to replicate the performance in their next game against Bangladesh U-19. It turned out to be a one-sided clash where Ireland U-19 set a target of 236 runs. Bangladesh did not face much trouble during the chase and scored the winning runs in the 47th over with six wickets in hand.
