Rajasthan Royals are deep into their pre-season camp with a bunch of their stars already in the country for the IPL 2024 that starts later this week. The 2008 champions, under the captaincy of Sanju Samson, will be hoping to recapture the title after finishing fifth on the points table last season.
Ahead of the latest season, RR have shared a clip of their skipper Samson batting against the spinners during a net session with his teammate Yuzvendra Chahal keenly watching him launch giant sixes.
Chahal seemed quite impressed with how Samson was consistently hitting the ball out of the park. However, Samson hilariously seemed to complain about the bowler using an old ball which probably was forcing him to hit it harder.

RR had a mixed season last year as they won seven and lost as many of their 14. They didn’t qualify for the playoffs.
The IPL season will be a crucial one for several India stars hoping to make the cut in the T20 World Cup squad.
Samson and Chahal are among the hopefuls.
Last year, Chahal became IPL’s all-time leading wicket-taker having taken his tally to 187 scalps to surpass the previous record of 183 wickets set by Dwayne Bravo. The legspinner will now be aiming to become the first bowler in the competition’s history to take 200 wickets.
Eyes will also be on youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal who enters the season after a series of breathtaking performances for the Indian cricket team.
Last season, Jaiswal finished as RR’s leading run-getter with 625 runs from 14 games. He went on to make his India debut later in 2023, hitting a century against West Indies in his first ever Test match.
He then made his T20I debut later on the tour of the Caribbean and then traveled to China for the Asian Games where he scored a century in India’s title winning run.
