Rinku Singh Reveals How His 'God's Plan' Tattoo Has Unique Connection With Five Sixes – WATCH

Rinku Singh was playing an IPL 2023 match for Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad against Gujarat Titans on April 9, 2023, when he hammered his Uttar Pradesh teammate Yash Dayal for five sixes in a row in the last over to win a match from an impossible situation for the Nitish Rana-led side. After that match, Rinku’s life changed totally, and within five months, he got a chance to play for India as well. He made his debut for India under Jasprit Bumrah’s leadership on August 18, 2023, against Ireland and since then has established himself as a regular member of India’s T20I team.

Rinku, who has 418 runs to his name in 23 T20Is played so far, is all set to play for India in the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh that starts on October 6. Ahead of the first T20I between India and Bangladesh in Gwalior, Rinku, in a video uploaded by BCCI’s official X handle on Saturday, opened up about his new ‘God’s plan’ tattoo and revealed the unique connection it has with the five sixes that changed his life.

In a video that is now going viral on the internet, Rinku said, “Sabko pata hai ki mera ek famous, jo mai bolta hoon—God’s plan. Us naam ka he maine tattoo karwaya, abhi kuch hafte hue hai. Aur thoda bahut mujhe iss naam se he jaante hai, God’s plan ke toh maine socha tha ki ek tattoo karwata hoon permanent. Iss tattoo ka matlab hai God’s plan aur uske around sun aur jo main cheej hai, meri iss tattoo ki, vo 5 six jo maare the, jis area mein maine—2 covers par maare the, 2 saamne aur ek pair ke paas—toh yaha se naa meri life change ho gayi aur yaha se mujhe log jaanne lage toh maine socha ki mai ek tattoo karata hoon isi ka.”

Rinku will be playing as a finisher for Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India in the T20I series against Bangladesh, which starts on Sunday, and the second and third matches are scheduled to take place in Delhi and Hyderabad on October 9 and 12, respectively.
