The ongoing Duleep Trophy has pitted the superstars of Indian cricket against each other. On Saturday, the likes of Rishabh and Kuldeep Yadav were involved in a light-hearted banter as the fixture between India A and India B at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru entered its third day.

Kuldeep walked out to bat after India A suffered a top-order collapse in reply to India B’s 321. As he reached the middle, a mischievous Pant playfully attempted to block Kuldeep’s view by placing fingers in Kuldeep’s helmet grill. The two twisted each other hands before Pant placed his arm around Kuldeep’s shoulder and had a conversation.

Later, Pant was seen smashing Kuldeep all around the park. In the 19th over of India B’s second innings, Pant cut away Kuldeep’s flighted delivery for a boundary. The wicketkeeper-batter hit another one down the ground off the last ball. Kuldeep was again greeted with a boundary in his next over as Pant cut past backward point before smashing the Chinaman bowler for a massive six down the ground.

Pant went on to notch a half-century while Sarfaraz Khan scored a 36-ball 46 as India B posted a momentum-grabbing second innings total of 150 for 6 at stumps. India B are now ahead by 240 runs with Washington Sundar (6).

Sarfaraz, who was dropped on 28 by Ahmed off his own bowling, creamed a flat six off the left-arm seamer over cover, evoking a wowing response from a good holiday crowd. But he soon fell to Avesh Khan, snicking a climbing delivery on the off-stump to Jurel behind the wicket.

However, Pant did not slow down at the other end and brought up his fifty in just 34 balls. The left-hander moved from 43 to 49 with an overhead six off Kuldeep Yadav, and a ball later he brought up the mini milestone with a single.

But Pant fell to Tanush Kotian, scooping a simple catch to substitute Kumar Kushagra in his attempt to sweep the spinner.
