Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir has branded batting superstar Virat Kohli as the Shahenshah (King of Kings). Gambhir was responding to a fun chat that involved him relating names of famous Bollywood movies with that of Indian cricketers.
And the World Cup-winning star made some interesting choices.
While he picked Yuvraj Singh for the tag of Badshah, it was Sachin Tendulkar who earned the title Dabang.
And no surprises that he picked himself for the title of Angry Young Man.
Jasprit Bumrah got the title Khiladi.
And he even went on to emphasise that the ace Indian pacer’s role is more crucial than all these.
Shikhar Dhawan, who recently announced his retirement from all forms of Indian cricket, also featured in the fun-filled interactive session.
Here are some of Gambhir’s other picks-
Mr. Perfectionist: Rahul Dravid
Gabbar: Shikhar Dhawan
Tiger: Sourav Ganguly

Kohli and Gambhir’s relationship has been one of the most talked-about topics.
The duo has had multiple altercations in the past, all on the field. They have been involved in a couple of fiery exchanges during the Indian Premier League (IPL) fixtures.
The two though seemed to have moved on from their past skirmishes and were seen hugging each other after a game between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru earlier this year.
Gambhir had reflected upon his relationship with Kohli after being appointed the head coach of the Indian cricket team. “My relationship with Virat Kohli is between the two of us and not for TRP,” Gambhir had said during his first press conference after becoming the Team India head coach.
He added that they share a very good relationship off the field, “…and will continue to do that. But yes, to make it more public, what kind of a relationship… I think it’s between two individuals. I’ve had a lot of chats with him (Kohli)… we’ve shared messages. Sometimes, just because we want headlines, it’s not important. Right now, the most important thing is we both are going to be working extremely hard to make India proud. And that’s our job.”
In their next assignment, Gambhir and India will take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series at home. The series opener will be played in Chennai and will get underway from September 19.
