'Very Exciting Talents, Hope They Will Win The World Cup' Says Irfan Pathan on India Under-19 Men's Team
Pathan also talked about the capabilities and ceilings for the new young crop of players that are leading India at the Under-19 World Cup and emphasised the promise they all showcase.

Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan showered praise on the India Under-19 Team and stated that he believes that the team will have a good chance at winning the ongoing ICC Under-19 World Cup.

India have been running riot over the other teams in the tournament, clinching four out of four wins with utmost ease. Three of those wins have been clinched with gargantuan margins of 200+ runs, showcasing the utter dominance the Men in Blue have established as of now.

Irfan Pathan, who was speaking at the launch event of Asian Legends League, Season 1, also talked about the Under-19 team and heaped praise on the team.

“I am very interested in Under-19 cricket and I am also following the World Cup. I am fortunate that I spent time, 2 weeks, with the India Under-19 team. When I went to NCA for a coaching course, I spent time with the players, Musheer Khan, Arshin Kulkarni, Raj Limbani and some other players were there,” exclaimed Pathan.

“They are very exciting talents and I hope that this team will win the World Cup because this a strong side, they also have a good support staff travelling with them.”

Pathan also talked about the capabilities and ceilings for the new young crop of players that are leading India at the Under-19 World Cup and emphasised the promise they all showcase.

“Musheer has shown consistency in the World Cup as he has immense capability. He also has a slightly wider range of shots than his elder brother Sarfaraz Khan. Sarfaraz played more shots square of the wicket while Musheer can hit straight down the ground easily. Arshin is strong and has the all-round ability while Raj Limbani has the swing as he also has good action.”

And Pathan would be right for saying so. The young Indian batters Musheer Khan and Arshin Kulkarni have already put up some blistering knocks.

Arshin scored a fabulous century against USA, while Musheer Khan has just taken the opposition by the scruff of their neck, blitzing through bowling ranks at will.

Musheer is the tournament’s leading run-scorer currently, notching up 325 runs in just 4 innings, at an average of 81.25 runs, and has already registered two centuries as well.

Skipper Uday Saharan is yet another player that needs to garner his due credit, having displayed great composure on field and with the bat as well.

India’s Under-19 team is set to face off against Nepal on February 2.
