The Centre of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences (CBCS) at Allahabad University and the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Hyderabad) have announced the extension of the registration period for the Cognitive Science Joint Entrance Test (COGJET 2024) until January 31. Aspiring candidates can submit their applications on the official website, at cogjet2024.in.

COGJET 2024 is an entrance examination for those seeking admission into the MSc in Cognitive Science and the Integrated MSc-PhD programme in Cognitive Science at CBCS, as well as the PhD programme in Cognitive Science at IIIT Hyderabad.

COGJET 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Prospective candidates are required to hold a bachelor’s degree (three or four-year programme) in subjects related to cognitive science and psychology, or in biological, physical, analytical science, engineering, medical science, or management studies. Completion of the degree or an expectation to finish it by June 2024 is a prerequisite for application.

COGJET 2024: Steps to apply

Step 1. Visit the official website at cogjet2024.in.

Step 2. On the homepage, find and click on the link to apply for COGJET 2024.

Step 3. Register as a new user on the new page and log in using your credentials.

Step 4. Complete the application form with all the required details.

Step 5. Upload relevant documents in the prescribed format.

Step 6. Pay the application fee securely online.

Step 7. Submit the application form electronically.

Step 8. Download the application confirmation page for future reference.

COGJET 2024: Fee structure

Candidates are subject to a non-refundable examination fee of Rs 1,000, while applicants falling under the SC, ST, OBC (NCL), and PwD categories will incur a reduced fee of Rs 700.

COGJET 2024: Examination pattern

The examination will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be completed within a two-hour timeframe. The syllabus, available on the COGJET 2024 portal, encompasses topics from cognitive psychology, neuroscience, mathematics, programming, and general reasoning.

While COGJET 2024 provides a performance card to each candidate, it’s important to note that success in the exam does not automatically guarantee admission. Individual institutions may impose additional eligibility conditions beyond COGJET 2024 and may also consider other national exams such as GATE and NET.
