The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has announced the HSC or class 12 board exam results 2024 today, May 9. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their scores through the official website of the board at gseb.org.

The board successfully conducted the 12th Class Annual Examinations for Arts, Commerce, and Science streams from March 11 and March 26. This year, about five lakh students sat for their examinations at various locations across Gujarat.

Gujarat Board HSC Result 2024: Past Pass Percentage Over The Years

The pass percentage trend of the Gujarat Board over the years has seen a huge rise this year compared to last year. While the science stream recorded a pass percentage of 82.45 per cent, the general stream recorded 91.93 per cent.

In 2023, a total of 4,77,392 students appeared in the Arts & Commerce exam, with 3,49,792 successfully passing. In addition to that, the HSC (general) exam results were announced on May 31, which showed an overall pass percentage of 73.27 per cent for the Arts and Commerce stream. The HSC Science results were announced on May 2, and 72,166 achieved success out of 1,10,042 candidates, with a pass percentage of 65.58 per cent. Out of which, the pass percentage for girls was recorded at 64.66 per cent, and for boys, it was 66.32 per cent.

In the year 2022, the board exams were conducted across 2,503 exam centres. A total of 72.02 per cent of students passed the exam, out of which 196 pupils scored A1 grades. A total of 3,303 students earned A2 grades. However, approximately 18,982 students, or the majority of those who passed, received a C2 grade. The year 2022 saw a rise over 2020 and 2019, when 71.34 per cent and 71.9 per cent of students in the science stream cleared the exam, respectively.

The Gujarat board had to cancel the HSC exam due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. However, the board produced the final results using a different evaluation method. The class 10 results were given 50 per cent weight, while the class 11 results and the class 12 internal unit tests each received 25 per cent of the weight in calculating the GSHSEB results. A total of 3.71 lakh students sat for the GSEB class 12 exam, with 2.83 lakh clearing the exam.

In the year 2020, a total of 1.7 lakh students registered for the science stream examination, and 3,245 students received an A1 grade.

Talking about the year 2019, a total of 8,22,823 students appeared for the exam, and the overall pass percentage was recorded to be 66.97 percent. Out of this, the pass rate for girls was 72.64 per cent, and for boys, it was 62.83 per cent.
