Physics Wallah Waives Off Fee Worth Rs 17 Crore For 51,000 Students
Physics Wallah said in an official statement that under the company’s Right to Education programme, a fee waiver has been provided.

In a significant move to promote education for underprivileged students, the CEO and founder of ed-tech major Physics Wallah, Alakh Pandey has waived off the fees of students worth over Rs 17 crore. The step has been taken for as many as 51,000 students of the academic session of 2023-24, reported news agency PTI.

Meanwhile, the ed-tech company said in an official statement on Monday, that under the company’s Right to Education programme, a fee waiver has been provided to the students under the courses of NEET, JEE, Commerce, Art and Standard 9 to 12 coaching.

The company’s statement announced Alakh Pandey’s move to extend to benefit the 51,000 students on some of its payment batches for this academic session. It also highlights the aim of the move as it says the company wants to support the economically weaker sections of society.

Alakh Pandey said, “We aim to encourage them and provide them hope that we stand with them, and financial constraints will not hinder their right to education.”

Physics Wallah is an ed-tech company that is known for its affordable and accessible educational content. It has been making waves in the Indian education sector since its accessibility and feasibility. The platform provides free education on the streaming platform, YouTube to millions of students, making it a go-to resource for several. Started in 2016, the Physics Wallah YouTube channel now has over 11 million subscribers.

Born and raised in Prayagraj (then Allahabad) in Uttar Pradesh, Alakh Pandey chose to transform his life after failing IIT-JEE. Starting from a small room, Pandey started the journey of providing coaching to underprivileged students.

With Pandey’s dedication and unique teaching methods, the ed-tech company called Physics Wallah climbed the rank of becoming India’s 101st unicorn, this year. Now, the company has over 500 teachers and 100 technical experts, which contributes to his net worth as well.
