The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced a major recruitment drive, offering 7,951 job vacancies in the Indian Railways. This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen the railway workforce and enhance operational efficiency nationwide.

The application process began on July 30 and will remain open until August 29. The vacancies include 7,934 posts for Junior Engineer (JE) and Material Superintendent, along with 17 posts for Chemical Supervisor, Metallurgical Assistant and research roles in these fields. To apply, candidates should visit their local RRB website and follow these steps:

  2. Register using your application number and date of birth.
  3. Complete the application form and pay the required fee.

The application fee is Rs.500 for General candidates and Rs.250 for SC, ST, Economically Backward Classes and women candidates. An additional fee of Rs.250 is required to correct any mistakes in the application.

The selection process will involve a computer-based test (CBT), followed by a medical examination. The eligible age range for applicants is 18 to 36 years. The recruitment process includes two stages of CBT and a thorough medical examination to ensure fitness for the role.

Successful candidates for the JE position will start with a salary of Rs.35,400, while Chemical Supervisors will start at Rs.44,900. In addition to the basic salary, selected candidates will receive various allowances, including house rent allowance (HRA), medical benefits and retirement benefits such as provident fund and pension schemes.
