Speedwell English Spoken and Art School, located in Ward No. 4 Ambedkar Nagar, Ranchi Jharkhand, has recently provided a golden opportunity to learn English. As per for the last 5 years, people of all religions and castes have been given English education completely free of charge here.
Meanwhile, school director Vipin Kumar shared the reason behind opening this institution. In an interaction with Local18, he said that he had completed a Bachelor of Design course and was working as a fashion designer in Hong Kong. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when he returned to his residence in Gumla, Jharkhand, he was working from home. During that time, he noticed students in his area were roaming here and there without proper education. Then he planned to give free English education to people around his home.
He further said that he started teaching on April 30, 2019. In the beginning, he had only five students. But since 2019, he has been continuously giving free education to students from the 5th grade to the graduation level. Gradually, the number of students increased, and now he runs three batches. There has been a lot of improvement in the students who have studied here compared to before. They have seen improvements in results in matriculation, intermediate, and graduation.
He then added that they offer a completely free course for four months. In these four months, English reading, writing, speaking, grammar, personality development, bonding, organisation behaviour, group discussion, art, technical drawing, mehndi design, etc. are taught.
Apart from this, to encourage the children, competitions like debates, science exhibitions, etc. are also organized in English from time to time, and the children are also given free copies, pens, and study materials as per their requirements.
In the institute, the first batch runs from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., during which students in grades 11 and 12 can register themselves. The second batch runs from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., during which graduate-level students can enrol. Whereas the third batch runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in which students from fifth to tenth grade can register themselves.
Each batch has a maximum seating capacity of 30 students. Registration for enrollment is going on. Registration is also free, so those who want to speak and learn English can register here.
