UPSC CSE 2024: Tips To Prepare For Mains Amid Closure Of Coaching Centres
The UPSC exam is conducted in 3 stages, Prelims, Mains and Interview.

More than ten lakh people prepare for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) each year to become IAS, IFS, IRS and other civil service jobs. Many become successful, while others do not. There are several coaching institutes in India which prepare the students for the UPSC examination. Areas like Rajinder Nagar and Mukherjee Nagar of Delhi are considered to be the stronghold for coaching. After a tragic accident of 3 UPSC students’ death in Rajinder Nagar, many coaching institutes for UPSC in Delhi are currently sealed. The sudden closure of the UPSC coaching centres has led to the loss of study materials of the aspirants which were kept in the drawers of the building.

UPSC exam is conducted in 3 stages — Prelims, Mains and Interview. UPSC Prelims exam was held on June 16. More than 13 lakh aspirants appeared for the exam. Out of them, 14,627 have cleared the preliminary stage. According to UPSC Notification 2024, the UPSC Mains exam will be held from September 20. In such a situation, the aspirants are stressed about their preparation. After the sudden closure, coaching institutes are planning to start online classes or launch test series. Till then, here are some tips which aspirants can follow to prepare for the UPSC CSE Mains, which will be held on September 20.

Revision

The candidates are advised to go through their notes, which they have prepared while studying at the centre. It will help them to go through the topic easily and better. They must keep preparing the notes for the final revision.

Coaching Videos

One can take help from coaching videos. As the coaching centres are being sealed, the videos of the professors teaching about the topic can help aspirants prep for the Mains exams. It can also increase their efficiency as they can pause and play the videos at any time.

Solve Papers

They can solve the question papers of previous years and try to solve them within the time frame. It will help them adjust to the question paper format and answers. They can also get help from your seniors.
