UPTAC 2024: Steps to Confirm Seat Allotment
Freeze: A candidate should select “Freeze” if they are satisfied with their seat allotment and do not want to compete in any more rounds. This will secure their spot and prevent them from competing in further rounds.
Float: A candidate may choose to “Float” if they are happy with their present allocation but would still like to aim for a higher one in the upcoming rounds. By doing this, their present seat is retained and they are eligible to be considered for choices with a higher preference in the next rounds.
Slide: The “Slide” option is available to candidates who are satisfied with the institution but want to take a different course there. By doing this, they maintain their seat but are free to transfer to a preferred course if one becomes available within the same college.
