The Uttarakhand government is extending assistance and support to youths seeking job opportunities in foreign countries. Praveen Chandra Goswami, Employment Officer of the Foreign Employment Cell within the Skill Development and Employment Department, revealed that in 2021, Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister, announced a scheme aimed at facilitating youth employment.
Operated by the Skill Development and Employment Department, the scheme aims to provide promising job prospects abroad for the youth. Under the Chief Minister Skill Upgradation and Global Employment Scheme, students pursuing Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) courses are being trained for overseas employment.
In 2021, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami initiated the Foreign Employment Scheme under the Skill Development and Employment Department. Subsequently, in 2022, a dedicated cell was established in the Sahaspur area of Dehradun. The Chief Minister Skill Upgradation and Global Employment Scheme was officially launched in May 2023.
As part of this initiative, a technical internship program between India and Japan was conducted under the Government of India’s Technical Intern Training Program (TITP). Japanese companies dispatched trainers to provide specialised training in areas such as Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM), Yoga Teaching and Home Health Care, aligning with the Prime Minister Skill Development Scheme. Upon completion of training, approximately 13 candidates are expected to secure employment with Japanese companies following interviews and selection procedures.
To avail of such opportunities, individuals can participate in various training programs conducted by the Skill Development and Employment Department. Prospective candidates interested in working abroad can apply through the official website eservices.uk.gov.in. Upon registration, they will receive timely updates and notifications from the department.
The scheme also entails governmental assistance with visa and ticket procedures, facilitating smoother transitions for individuals seeking overseas employment. Additionally, the government has established communication channels with agencies offering job opportunities, resulting in a substantial influx of job notifications.
Ultimately, the scheme aims to empower individuals with career prospects outside India, fostering both personal and professional growth among the youth.
