Hollywood events have returned in full swing after the conclusion of the SAG AFTRA strikes that halted the industry for months. Among the prominent highlights was the appearance of Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, at Variety’s Power of Women gala, drawing major attention with her graceful presence. The Suits star made a stylish solo entry at the Los Angeles event, marking one of her initial red-carpet appearances since her relocation. Her absence at last year’s event on September 28, following the passing of Queen Elizabeth on September 8, was felt. However, this recent presence showcased Meghan’s style as she entered the venue in a stunning one-shoulder gown.
For the special occasion, she wore a $1,400 (approximately Rs 1 lakh) beige one-shoulder dress featuring a slit edge by Proenza Schouler. She accessorised her overall look with a black clutch and Aquazzura heels worth $ 895 (approximately Rs 74,000), the shoe brand she previously wore on her royal wedding day with Prince Harry in 2018 and on several other occasions. Completing her attire, Meghan opted for a pulled-back hairstyle, minimal makeup, and pretty gold hoop earrings.

Before her appearance at Variety’s Power of Women event, Meghan Markle showcased her liking for one-shoulder dresses on two separate occasions. During her pregnancy with Prince Archie, she wore a black Givenchy gown at the British Fashion Awards in London in December 2018. In another instance, she opted for a one-shoulder blue gown designed by Christopher John Rogers at the NAACP Image Awards in February 2022. Accompanied by Prince Harry, the couple attended to accept the President’s Award.
Meanwhile, during Variety’s Power of Women event in Los Angeles, the Duchess of Sussex was joined by other Hollywood personalities, including Margot Robbie, Emily Blunt, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Oprah Winfrey, and many others. During her red carpet appearance, she made intriguing revelations, as she hinted at her return to Hollywood and teased about the possibility of Prince Harry making his debut in the entertainment industry.
At Variety’s Power of Women event, this year’s honorees, Fantasia Barrino, Billie Eilish, Lily Gladstone, and Carey Mulligan, were recognised for their contributions and impact in their respective fields. Additionally, LuckyChap co-founders Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara received the prestigious Producer of the Year award.
