London: Arsenal have been dealt a blow in the race for the English Premier League title with midfielder Aaron Ramsey expected to miss up to six weeks of action because of a thigh injury.
The Wales international, who has been a key element of Arsenal's resurgence this season, was injured in training. Arsenal trail leader Manchester City by one point ahead of Sunday's reception of Crystal Palace in a London derby.
Manager Arsene Wenger will try to sign another midfielder to make up for Ramsey's absence in the last hours of the January transfer window, which closes on Friday.
Wenger says, "Aaron Ramsey will be out for four to six weeks. I count six weeks. We are still trying to bring one body in because of Ramsey's setback and [Mathieu] Flamini's suspension."
