Madrid: With Diego Costa unavailable and Fernando Torres injured, Spain coach Vicente del Bosque will rely on David Villa to spear his attack as the World Cup champion aims to seal its spot in the 2014 tournament.

Diego Costa was born in Brazil but became a Spanish citizen this year. He had wanted to make his international debut with Spain for the upcoming qualifiers, but a paperwork delay meant he will have to wait.

Del Bosque says the in-form Atletico Madrid striker "has positive feelings for a country he has integrated well with and he wants to play here."

Spain hosts Belarus next Friday and Georgia four days later. Spain leads Europe Group I, level with France on points but with an extra game in hand.

Del Bosque has recalled Chelsea's attacking midfielder Juan Mata for the holders' final two World Cup 2014 Group I qualifiers at home to Belarus and Georgia.

Villa and Alvaro Negredo will likely play after Torres hurt his left knee this week.
