Manchester rivals set to go head-to-head for Lewandowski
United are set to go head-to-head with City for £25m-rated Robert Lewandowski.

The Robert Lewandowski saga is far from over even after Borussia Dortmund insisting that the striker will be at Dortmund next season. With Wayne Rooney's future uncertain at Manchester United and arch-rival Manchester City giving away Carlos Tevez to Juventus, the EPL giants have set their radar at the Polish hitman.

United are set to go head-to-head with City for £25m-rated Robert Lewandowski after City abandoned their chase of Uruguayan Edinson Cavani, who is likely to go to real Madrid. Lewandowski has dhad a successful career at Dortmund, but was very vocal in joining Champions League winners Bayern Munich as join his former BVB teammate Mario Gotze.

According to The Sun Manuel Pellegrini's Blues have been in touch with the Polish forward's representatives to verbally register their interest and City have indicated they are willing to make him one of their best-paid players with wages of around £200,000 a week.

Earlier, Dortmund's chief executive Aki Watzke had denied reports of a possible transfer talk of the Poland star to Real Madrid.
