A singular sigh of relief in a worry-riddled and disappointing season for Erik ten Hag arises, as Manchester United stave away heated rivals Manchester City in a thrilling 2-1 win to claim the FA Cup.
United started off the scoring, thanks to Alejandro Garnacho who capitalised off a Josko Gvardiol error to tap one into the back of the net.
This was followed by a moment of fluid passing from United, which saw them orchestrate a sublime string of passes to allow United youngster Kobbie Mainoo to slot on into the back of the net and take a 2-0 lead at half-time.

City struggled to find their way into United’s final third initially, but came out with attacking intent, and came close to breaking through the defense as Erling Haaland hit the crossbar with a walloping strike on goal.
It was finally, Jeremy Doku who found the breakthrough for City, as the Belgian winger swiped one in from the edge of the box, onto the near post to beat Andre Onana.
But, it all proved to be too little too less for City, who despite their continued attacking intent and pressure, couldn’t find the second goal, ultimately allowing United to triumph and lift the trophy.
This marks the 13th FA Cup title win for United in the history of their club.
