London: Neymar has distanced himself from reports that he is about to sign for Real Madrid, while Santos president Luis Ribeiro added weight to the remarks with claims that he is not ready to let the youngster leave yet.
Quotes from the Brazilian's agent, Ernesto Bronzetti, on Tuesday indicated that the striker had already agreed a deal with the La Liga club. But Bronzetti later stated that he had been misinterpreted by the Italian media - a mistake which led to several media outlets claiming it was a done deal.
Upon landing in Montevideo, where Santos will be playing the first leg of the Copa Libertadores final against Penarol, Neymar insisted that he is nowhere near a deal with the Spanish outfit.
"There is nothing (with Real Madrid). Today, nothing will take me out of Santos," he said.
Meanwhile, Ribeiro denied there is any sort of agreement with the Spanish side for the 19-year-old, adding that he is trying to find a way to secure the winger.
"If an offer came, I would send it back. It is funny that such news always comes the day before decisive matches. They must be joking. When it is not Ganso, it is Neymar," the president stated.
"We are talking to several sponsors. We will make as many offers as necessary for Neymar to stay."
Neymar, who has a contract with Santos until 2015 and has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, is believed to have a release clause of €45 million (39.6 million pounds).
