West Ham are keeping a close eye on the Chelsea duo of Romelu Lukaku and Demba Ba in case the Blues leave the strikers once Jose Mourinho takes over as manager.
After completing the deal for Andy Carroll, the Hammers management are anxiously waiting for Mourinho's 25-member Chelsea squad.
"The Chelsea pair - Lukaku and Ba - are of real interest to us because one or the other may well be excluded from Jose's final 25," a top level Hammers source told sportsdirectnews.com. "There's a little way to go before we all have to announce our squads but that won't stop a lot of talking being done behind the scenes.
"Either of those two would be good for us. Lukaku was brilliant on loan at West Brom last season and we know all there is to know about Demba from his time with us."
They are keeping a close watch at the other top London clubs - Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur - although the Chelsea pair is top in their priority list.
