Florence Pugh is having an “amazing time” shooting for her upcoming Marvel movie Thunderbolts in Atlanta. The Oppenheimer actress will be slipping into the shoes of her character Yelena Belova in this Jake Schreier directorial. Marvel buffs first got a glimpse of her role in the 2021 film Black Widow, which was once again reprised for the Disney Plus series Hawkeye. Now that Florence Pugh is in the Atlanta studio shooting for the much-anticipated superhero flick, she decided to treat fans with some glimpses of the set premises, a sneak peek of her superhero costume, and a meet-and-greet with the crew members.
Dropped on Instagram by Marvel Studios, the video showed Florence Pugh addressing viewers with a cheerful greeting. “Hey guys, how are you doing? I know I’ve dropped off for a little bit, but that’s partially because I was whisked off to Atlanta to shoot a movie that I’m not really supposed to talk about,” she informed. However, she agreed to get a little “sneaky” and show some things from the film sets.

After revealing her superhero suit, Florence Pugh introduced viewers to the team of Assistant Directors. Moving on, she went inside the Thunderbolts set and panned the camera to reveal huge structures and artificially constructed buildings. The film’s director Jake Schreier also made an appearance in the clip. “I don’t even think you’re supposed to be doing this”, he warned Pugh jokingly. The film editor seated in front of the director was busy with the technical aspects. The video concluded with Pugh offering a glimpse of the other crew members. She signed off by saying, “I can’t wait to show you what we made.”
Marvel fans were quick to react to the video. “Welcome to the Thunderbolts era,” noted one user. Another pointed out, “Florence Pugh personally getting everyone hyped for Thunderbolts was a prime marketing move.” “I’m so excited for this!” exclaimed a third enthusiastic individual.
Besides Florence Pugh, Thunderbolts also features Marvel stars Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, John Kamen, and David Harbour, alongside newcomers Geraldine Viswanathan and Lewis Pullman. Based on anti-heroes and reformed supervillains as per Marvel Comics, Thunderbolts is slated to premiere theatrically on May 2, 2025.
