Former co-stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito reunite years after playing brothers in Twins. It was the story of them reuniting in adulthood after being separated at birth.

In 1988, a comedy movie titled Twins brought together actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito, portraying the story of unlikely fraternal twins reuniting in adulthood after being separated at birth. This comedic masterpiece swiftly gained cult status, becoming an iconic project for both Schwarzenegger who is a former politician, and DeVito who is also a renowned comedian. The film became popular for the unique pairing of the action star and comic legend. This comedy not only secured a special place in the hearts of viewers but also etched itself into the cinematic legacy of both Schwarzenegger and DeVito.

Fast-forwarding to the present day, Schwarzenegger took to social media to share a heartening reunion moment with his former co-star. He uploaded a photo that not only captures the warmth of their connection but also reminds us of the height difference between the two actors – which the fans might remember as a distinctive feature from the plot of Twins.

Schwarzenegger, in a touching caption, affectionately dubbed DeVito as “My brother!” while commending him for a recent stint on Broadway. He wrote, “My brother! It was fantastic to see Danny on Broadway in “I Need That”. He and Lucy and everybody involved kept the audience entertained, laughing and loving every minute – one of the best plays I’ve ever seen, a true spectacle with heart!! I can’t wait to work together again.”

After the lasting impact of Twins, a sequel to the film was announced in 2012. This second part saw incredibly slow development but was still confirmed to have a script in the works nine years later, in 2021. Later that year, it was announced that the sequel cast Tracy Morgan as a triplet brother for Schwarzenegger and DeVito, and that the sequel would be titled Triplets.

However, since this casting, prospective Triplets director Ivan Reitman passed away. Leaving Triplets without the director of the Twins, the future of the sequel seemed to be in flux. In 2022, Schwarzenegger said that Triplets would still move forward in the absence of Reitman, but Reitman’s son and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire co-writer Jason Reitman later made comments that seemed to suggest otherwise.

As of now, there is no official or concrete information on the progress of Triplets. It remains elusive since Ivan Reitman’s untimely demise, leaving fans in anticipation and speculation about the fate of this cinematic venture.
