Stealing everybody’s hearts and making our teenage dreams shine was the legendary boy group One Direction or 1D. The sensational pop band is led by singers Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. They rose to fame during the 2010s and officially called it quits in 2016. Recently, an ex-member of the band, Zayn Malik, who enjoys a massive fan following on social media, in an episode of the popular YouTube talk show ‘Hot Ones’, recalled a ‘dangerous’ incident of saving the singer and his former bandmate Harry Styles from a pyrotechnic mishap at one of the concerts of One Direction.
“There’s actually a footage of it, it’s amazing as it makes me look great,” Malik said. He added, “Harry was next to a pyro and it was about to go off as they were on timers. He had a towel over his head and he had his head over that pyro, he didn’t see that. So, you see me run from one side of the stage and pushing him out of the way. That was really dangerous.”
Soon, after the episode was aired, a few snippets of the video went viral on social media and the fans expressed their happiness that Malik still remembers her One Direction days.
Taking to X, one of Malik’s fan pages dropped the throwback video of Malik saving Styles from the mishap and wrote, “Zayn mentioning this moment was not on my 2024 bingo cards.”
Another user commented, “I’m crying at this part.” One user wrote, “He said Harry’s name. I’m fine. I’m fine.” A fan commented, “I really miss them.”
In the video, Styles could be seen standing near fire flames and wiping his head with a towel, it was at that moment, Malik went to him and guided him away from the flames. The video has been viewed more than 227.8K times on X.
Some of the popular tracks of One Direction were What Makes You Beautiful, Once in a Lifetime, Perfect, Stockholm Syndrome, Long Way Down and Change Your Ticket among others. Since calling quits in 2016, each member of the group went on to make their solo career.
Meanwhile, Malik recently announced his fourth studio album titled Room Under The Stairs. On Friday he unveiled the first single from the album What I Am.
