This wikiHow teaches you how to remove a linked account from Facebook Messenger on an iPhone or iPad. You can easily delete a Messenger account from your iPhone as long as you're still signed in with at least one other Facebook account. Removing the account from Messenger won't actually delete the account, it will just remove its login information from this phone or tablet.
Open the Messenger app on your iPhone or iPad. It’s the blue and white chat bubble icon with a sideways lightning bolt inside. You’ll usually find it on the home screen.
Tap the three-line menu. You'll see this at the top-left corner of the Chats page.
Tap your profile name. A list of Messenger accounts signed in to your iPhone or iPad will appear. You must keep at least one Messenger account signed in on your iPhone or iPad.
Swipe left on the account you want to delete. You'll now see the option to remove the account.
Tap Remove, and then Remove to confirm. The Messenger account is now deleted from the Facebook Messenger app. This does not delete the Facebook account. To delete the Facebook account, see Permanently Delete a Facebook Account.
