Easiest Ways to Cancel a Return Order on Amazon
Easiest Ways to Cancel a Return Order on Amazon
If you change your mind about returning an Amazon item, you don't have to cancel the return. Since you've already paid, the return will expire on its own, and nothing will happen if you don't return the item. You'll only need to cancel an Amazon return if you want to change the return method (such as switching to Whole Foods drop-off instead of UPS) or get a replacement instead of a refund. We'll show you how!
Things You Should Know
  • To cancel an Amazon return on a computer, go to "Returns & Orders," click "View return/refund status" on the item, then click "Manage return" > "Cancel return."
  • On an Android, iPhone or iPad, tap "Your Orders" on your profile, select the return, go to "View return/refund status" > "Manage return," then tap "Cancel return."
  • To cancel an A-to-Z Guarantee refund request, select the item in your orders, click "Problem with order," and select "Withdraw Request.

Cancel a Return in the Amazon Mobile App

Tap the profile icon at the bottom. It's the outline of a person at the bottom-center of the Amazon mobile app. You will only be able to cancel an Amazon return if you haven't yet shipped or dropped off the item.

Tap Your Orders to bring up your recent orders. It's near the top of the screen.

Tap View return/refund status on the item. This displays the return details.

Tap the Manage return button. Here you'll find the option to cancel the return.

Tap Cancel return and then again to confirm. The Amazon return is now canceled. If Cancel return isn't available, the item has already been scanned for return, or a replacement has already been shipped to you. Contact Amazon for help by tapping the profile icon > Your Account > Contact Us.

Cancel a Return on a Computer

Click Returns & Orders at the top-right corner of Amazon. This displays your most recent orders. If you've requested a return on any of the orders, you'll see "Return started" above the product's name. You can't cancel a return if you've already shipped or dropped off the item to Amazon.

Click View return/refund status. It's the second button to the right of the product name.

Click the Manage return button. It's near the top of the page below the return timeline.

Click the Cancel return button, and then again to confirm. Once you confirm the cancelation by clicking Cancel return a second time, your return will be canceled. If Cancel return isn't available, the item has already been scanned for return, or a replacement has already been shipped to you. To contact Amazon for help, hover your mouse over your name at the top of Amazon.com, select Customer Service, select the product, and choose the option to chat with a representative.

Cancel an A-to-Z Refund Request

Open your recent orders. If you requested a refund for a product you ordered from a third-party Amazon seller and no longer need the refund, you can cancel the request as long as Amazon hasn't yet made their decision. In the Amazon mobile app, tap the outline of a person at the bottom, then tap Your Orders. On a computer, click Returns & Orders at the top-right corner of the page.

Select Problem with order on the order. If you're using the mobile app, tap the order to find this option. If you're on a computer, scroll down to the item, then tap Problem with order to the right of the product name.

Click or tap Withdraw Request and follow the on-screen instructions. Explain why you're canceling the refund request (e.g., the seller sent you a replacement), then click or tap Submit. Amazon may need to review the cancelation request before approving it. If the request to cancel is denied, you will need to submit an appeal. Here's how: Return to Problem with an order on the product. Select Appeal decision. Enter your comments and tap Submit.
