How to Access Your .Minecraft Folder on the Computer

Steps

Minecraft

Open Minecraft. Click "Options..."

Click "Resource Packs or Texture Packs..."

Click "Open resource/texture pack folder".

Click ".minecraft". This should be in the address bar at the top of the new window that opened.

Choose the folder you wish to access.

Windows 8

Press ⊞ Win + R. A new small window in the bottom left corner of your screen will appear. This program is called "Run" and it allows you to start things up on your computer. Keep in mind that you don't have to download it, it will be a default program on your computer. Alternatively, you could drag your mouse to the top right corner of the screen and drag down to open up the panel. Then, click "Search" and type in "Run".

Type %appdata% in the box.

Click OK.

Click on ".minecraft".

Choose the folder you wish to access. You can download Optifine for Minecraft. It provides access to a wider variety of texture packs with special features that change the look of the world. It also offers new actions and cosmetic features that give Minecraft a cleaner look.
