Fly in via plane to Orlando International Airport. This is how most people arrive. This airport serves the millions of people on their way to visit Walt Disney World and other attractions in Central Florida, so you're likely to encounter a consistent crowd there. A map of the place is provided from the Orlando Airport's website.
Drive to the parking garages for the terminals. If you have a rental vehicle, proceed to the designated lot for your car rental service or company.
Use a ride sharing service such as Uber or Lyft to get you to this airport. Drivers will drop you at the terminal's designated areas, to avoid hassles.
Take a bus or taxi/limousine to get to the airport. With many bus lines arriving at the airport at all hours of the day, these buses can be very effective. Lynx bus system is one of the more economical ways to reach this airport, providing access from several points in Orlando.
Ride in with your hotel's shuttle van/bus if the hotel is nearby. Even places that are 40+ minutes away by car may be able to hire another service, which can help you get you to the airport's right location. Check with your hotel to see if there's a shuttle to and from this airport when booking your reservation.
Navigate your way around this airport. It's quite long and confusing to gather everything and everybody. However great the shuttle is that takes you from the gates to the terminals and back, keep in mind that there is no effective shuttle that can take you from one terminal to another. If you ask terminal staff, you may be assisted by some hired employees who may charge you a fee. Follow the signs on the arrivals level outside the building.
Find the correct patron parking garage entrance. There is one for each terminal building. However, depending on your airline, this level of the parking garage may differ. There are three levels.
Read both the road signs outside as well as the directional signs inside very carefully. Getting around in this airport may be confusing, and missing a turn is easy.
Keep an eye out for rail travel to this airport. Brightline will offer a high-speed rail connecting Orlando and its airport to Miami.
Give yourself time to move between terminals for connecting flights. Use wayfinding apps or maps on MCO's website to find the exact location of services and gates.
Park in the economy lot, if you can. Economy Lot offers shuttles to the terminals. However, longer short-term parking spots can be found in the parking garages across from the terminal buildings.
Expedite your security checkpoint status. Have your boarding pass and ID ready, and remove items requiring additional inspection - including any laptops and any items from your pockets such as wallets, phones, tablets, etc. Understand that the lines for the TSA security screening are almost always long. Plan on being there for a minimum of two hours before your flight to check in on your flight. Have your boarding pass and identification ready for every member of your traveling party. Taking this extra time should speed up the line and make things go a lot steadier for the people waiting "patiently" (though wishing the line could travel quicker) behind you.
