Choosing a Pocket Watch

Choose a contemporary model of watch to closely match your jeans. Jeans look very modern, so wearing a very modern style of pocket watch is a terrific way to match the different pieces of your ensemble. It’s designed to slot through the buttonhole of a waistcoat or jacket, so it’s not really a good fit if you plan to wear your watch with jeans.

Select a watch and chain made of the same metal for a neater look. Your ensemble will look more matching and coordinated if your pocket visually matches the chain attached to it. For example, match a gold watch with a gold chain or a silver watch with a silver chain.

Pairing Your Watch with Jeans

Leave the chain in your pocket as well for a neater look. If you place both the pocket watch and the chain in the front pocket of your jeans, your outfit will look much more dapper. However, this will also make your pocket watch less noticeable to other people.

Wear a slightly formal top to round out your smart casual ensemble. Wearing a loose T-shirt or tank top may look too casual next to your semi-formal pocket watch. Instead, go for a smart casual or business casual look that will work in tandem with your pocket watch. Wear a vest with your watch and jeans for a more classic style.
