Actress Shamna Kasim, known better by her screen name Poorna, is certainly enjoying her newly embraced motherhood to the fullest. The actress, who has appeared in films from all the South Indian industries, became a mother on April 4 after she and her husband Shanid Asif Ali were blessed with a baby boy.
She has been sharing photos of their infant son on social media at regular intervals since then. In her most recent post, Poorna has shared a set of five photos of herself having a great time with her baby. The photos have been taken both at home and at a supermarket. In one of the photos, she is seen kissing her baby affectionately while another one is a rather cute and adorable one of him sitting inside a pram and looking at the camera. In the caption, Poorna mentioned that with her motherhood, she is certainly enjoying the best phase of her life at present.
“The happiness you get being a mother will not get that in anything…Having the best and the best time of my life,” she wrote.
In Dubai in October of last year, Poorna married Shanid Asif Ali in a traditional Arabic ceremony. They had met earlier that year while participating in a programme named Marhaba in Dubai. It was quite a quick transition from friendship to courtship and then marriage. In the actress’s own words during an interview, everything fell into place really fast.
Poorna is best known for VK Sasikala’s role in Kangana Ranaut-starrer Thalaivi. She made her debut on the Telugu screen with the movie Evare Athagadu (2003). However, the film flopped and did not get much recognition. Priyamani won the National Best Actress Award for playing the female lead opposite Karthi in the Tamil movie Paruthiveeran.
After lead roles started drying up, Poorna started accepting supporting roles in films. She last appeared in Srikanth Odela’s Dasara.
