People venturing beyond their comfort zones and indulging in occasional restaurant meals are now being greeted with an unexpected bonus – insects and animals. The prevalence of discovering cockroaches (and everything else) in dishes has surged, as evidenced by the internet continually unveiling new posts of customers encountering this unsettling experience. In a recent addition to this disconcerting trend, a resident of Hyderabad took to Reddit to recount their unfortunate incident of stumbling upon a dead cockroach in the biryani they had ordered online.
Posted on the ‘Hyderabad’ subreddit, the user with the handle @maplesyrup_411 shared images of the unappetizing discovery within their plate of what could have otherwise been a delightful Zomato-ordered biryani from Grand Hotel in Koti.

Alongside the images, the user lamented, “I ordered Fish Biryani from Grand Hotel in Koti, through Zomato and looks like the hotel staff were kind enough to give me some extra protein in the form of a dead cockroach. Would never order from here again. 0/10 (unless you’re into eating insects).”

The post quickly gained traction, eliciting responses from the public. Recommendations poured in, urging the OP to file a complaint, a suggestion to which they promptly agreed. One user expressed shock, stating, “Please complain. Everyday literally hundreds of people eat there. I eat there atleast twice or thrice a month. This is shocking to say the least.” Another user expressed their cautious approach, stating, “I kinda avoid almost old city eateries. There may be exceptions. As popular as they are when it comes hygiene they are s***. Before ordering online try and dine at least once physically.”

A third user offered a culinary tip, advising, “Always eat what others order most, not items that are rarely ordered , especially fish biryani.”
