US-based Indian CEO of a multinational software company, Sanjay Shah died in a freak accident during the aerial show of the silver jubilee celebrations of his venture at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. A video of the incident showed the exact moment the iron cage, suspended in midair, fell due to a snag.
The 56-year-old founder Sanjay Shah and his colleague 52-year-old president of Vestex Asia, Vishwanath Raj Datla, entered into an iron cage, which was to be lowered from a height during the aerial show. However, the iron chain supporting the cage broke on one side, making both of them fall to the ground.

While Shah sustained injuries to his leg and hand, Datla suffered a severe head injury.
What Happened During the Freak Accident That Killed US-based Indian CEO?
According to Abdullahpurmet inspector A Manmohan, a two-day event was scheduled at Ramoji Film City to mark Vestex Asia’s successful 25 years in the industry.
One of the highlights of the event was an aerial show that around 700 people had gathered to witness on Thursday evening, around 7:40 pm.

The falling structure directly impacted Sanjay Shah and Vishwanath Raj Datla, who were immediately rushed to Maxi Cure Hospital and later moved to Yashoda Hospital in Malakpet for advanced medical treatment.
Shah succumbed to his injuries at the hospital during the early hours of Friday. Datla, on the other hand, remains in critical condition, receiving intensive medical care.
A case has been registered against the Film City event management authorities based on a complaint made by another official of the company, news agency PTI reported.
