Nearly 20 people were stranded amidst rushing water when the lake at Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai overflowed on Thursday.
The incident occurred when the Tulsi Lake at SGNP swelled, and overflowing water flooded nearby areas at 8:30 AM on Saturday following incessant rainfall.
In a video, more than 20 people are seen trapped in the strong water currents. They formed a human chain to navigate the turbulent waters and reach safety.

Mumbai has been witnessing incessant rainfall for the past 2 days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert and predicted further heavy showers over the city on July 20 and 21.
Heavy downpours have triggered severe waterlogging in several parts of Mumbai. Several roads have been closed and traffic has been diverted on various routes following the waterlogging situation in the city.
In 13 hours between 8 am and 9 pm, the city recorded 52.89 mm of rainfall on Friday.
Nagpur, the second capital of Maharashtra, has also been witnessing heavy showers since Friday. The city recorded 90.6 mm of rainfall at the Nagpur airport observatory in the 24 hours ending 8.30 am on Saturday.

Heavy rains have caused severe waterlogging across the city. The Nagpur district collector declared a holiday for all schools and colleges in the city and rural area on Saturday as IMD issued a red alert.
