BANGALORE: Sree Ramanjaneya Swamy Temple Trust unveiled a 27-foot Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy’s monolith statue at Challaghatta on the outskirts of the city on Thursday. The event was attended by Opposition leader in BBMP M Udayshankar and local corporators Babu Reddy and Chandrappa Reddy. The statue is the brainchild of three brothers-Ramaiah, Munikrishna and Keshavamurthy, trustees of the temple. “We had a dream to consecrate the monolith statue of Lord Hanuman made of black stone. This stone was found in Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu. We consulted U Padmanabhan, a lecturer at Government College of Architecture. It took 11 months for us to complete the statue. The Nama on the forehead of the lord has gold and diamond. The total cost of the whole project was around Rs 35 lakh,” said Munikrishna.Later, astrologer S K Jain visited the temple. He performed puja to the statue and gave some astrological tips to the public.“Doctors and scientists question the miracles and faith, but they cannot question the mother nature. In Kerala, people perform many pujas which are beyond the understanding of people of Karnataka. It is possible because they follow Bhagwad Gita in detail. For achievements in spiritual world, one must have dedication.” “I am not against any religion, I respect all. People must feel good for what they are born into,” he observed. “World will not end this year, but due to some astrological signs, there may be some indication about the natural disasters,” he felt
