New Delhi: The Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Vinod Rai, on Tuesday appeared before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam probe.
According to reports, Rai stood by his report and asserted that lead auditor R P Singh was party to it.
Sources said that Rai gave a detailed presentation on the loss figures.
He further said that there was no question of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Murli Manohar Joshi trying to influence the CAG report.
This came a day after lead auditor R P Singh had told the JPC that he was pressured from above to sign the report.
Singh had given a report of estimating the loss from sale of 2G spectrum at 2001 rates at Rs 2645 crore, but was asked to sign a report with a presumptive loss of Rs 1.76 lakh crore in July.
