THRISSUR: Over 60 school children were injured when a private minibus, transporting them to school, overturned at Parathode in Cherur here on Friday. Ten students escaped unhurt. The bus plunged into a slush while giving way to a bike, eyewitnesses said.The injured, aged between 3 and 15, were rushed to nearby private hospitals and given first aid. Seven of them have been admitted to a hospital."The children are fine. There is nothing to worry. We have hospitalised them to ease their minor discomforts," a doctor said. The bus carried around 70 students, much beyond its capacity. A case has been registered against bus driver Sujil, Police Commissioner P Vijayan said. The Joint Road Transport Officer has cancelled the fitness certificate of the vehicle, owned by P M Rajesh of Mattampuram.
