It is a great pleasure for Tamilians to know that the list of movies nominated for Oscar includes two films from the Tamil industry. '7aum Arivu' directed by AR Murugadoss and 'Vazhakku Enn 18/9' directed by Balaji Sakthivel are nominated from Kollywood.
The film federation of India (FFI) has chosen ten other movies from various Indian languages - Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam. Out of all these, one film will be shortlisted for the Academy Awards by a 16 members jury. Although Tamilians would feel proud for these two Tamil movies, the chance for these to get on top is very less. This is because of the other language movies like 'Kahaani', 'The Dirty Picture', 'Barfi' etc.
However, things are still under guess. Let us wait to know which film is going to hit the top rank.
