Nine-year-old boy who fell into a 200-feet borewell while flying a kite near his house died on Thursday.

The boy was flying a kite near his house in Charda Kala village near Hindon City in Karauli district, some 200 km from Jaipur, when he fell into the borewell about 3 pm on Wednesday.

Following the incident, a rescue operation had been launched in Rajasthan to save the boy on Thursday. Chhotu has been stuck inside the borewell for the past 20 hours.

A hole parallel to the borewell was being dug to save the child and to get food and water to him," officials had said. Later, it was being said that the Army was also contacted to extend help if efforts failed to rescue the child.

The boy's family members and the villagers had accused the authorities of delaying the rescue operations due to lack of resources. They blocked a road in protest and demanded that the child be rescued soon.
