The eleventh floor of the Savera Hotel has, for years, been delivering a dining experience fit for royalty. With its grand yet rustic ambience, chandelier lighting and soft ghazals to set the mood, Minar seems to transport one to a palace of sorts, everytime. With a newly launched Qureshi menu recently, it was evident that there would be a celebration of dum flavours with every spoonful of biryani. Nina Reddy, Executive director, Savera Hotel said, “Grand Master Chef Imtiaz Qureshi's two sons, Ashfaque and Irfan Qureshi have revamped our menu completely.” She adds, “This is the Qureshi family’s newest international venture and the first in Chennai to bring their expertise to South India. At least one of the Qureshi brothers will be with us every week to keep the flavours as authentic as possible.”As the aroma of delicately spiced starters wafted in, so did a number of important guests making their presence felt at the launch. These included Canadian Consul member Shaun Wedick, Chanchai Charanvatnakit, Royal Thai Consulate General, Dheena and actress Shaylaja. Some of the favourites on the buffet included the Jooje Limbo (Supreme of chicken pocketed and filled with the stuffing of cheese, mint and onion) and Shahi Pakodi (Golden fried petit milk dumplings and dipped in rabadi) from the dessert section. But then, without a doubt, the Dum Lucknowi biryani, simmered with lamb and spices, was the most savoured dish of the evening!
