CPM veteran and Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan has expressed protest against the arrest of party Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan.
He told reporters here on Wednesday that the government’s action was partisan as it had not initiated action against P K Basheer MLA who had instigated violence which resulted in the murder of two youths at Areekode.
He said that the government action could not be called just.
He said that K Sudhakaran MP, who was behind the attempt to murder on E P Jayarajan, was allowed to go scot-free even after his one-time driver revealed that Sudhakaran had engaged goons to make an attempt on the life of Jayarajan.
He called for protest against the government’s. partisan approach.
