THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The prestigious GV Raja Memorial Cup in the Kerala Leg of Addicts Golfing Tournament, which concluded here last Sunday, was bagged by Brigadier G Mohan. Jayaraj R was adjudged the runner-up in the tournament.The coveted ‘Dharam Cup’ was won jointly by P S Thomas and V S Thyagarajan. The Balan Nambiar Memorial Cup was lifted by Lt Col B K Anilkumar. Dr Jacob Thomas was the winner of the ‘Kerala Addicts Senior Golfer Trophy’.The annual tournament, held at the Trivandrum Golf Course, was inaugurated by Shashi Tharoor MP in the presence of ‘Addicts Golfing Society Scribe’ Ramesh Mouli, Thomas Kurien, E M Najeeb, John Thomas and Raghuchandran Nair. More than 70 players from all over South India took part in the tournament.The Addicts Golfing Society of Southern India was established in 1949 at Chennai and is the oldest such society in the world. Tournaments are held every year at eight centres (Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mysore, Kodai, Ooty, Coorg & Thiruvananthapuram) and one at a destination overseas. The Society has more than 1,500 members.
